Alien Of Nature or AON, is the creation of singer songwriter Michael Baran.

Alien of Nature (AON) comes from the Gaelic word meaning “One”. Alien Of Nature was coined by Baran’s 10 year old nephew Marcus at the time which is how Marcus would discribe his Uncle. It felt spot on. The musical influences range from rock, psychedelic, blues, singer-songwriter, country, folk, alternative and everything in-between and outside; disparate backgrounds together weaving a singular mosaic of Americana.

AON's music takes the introspective route home, and reflects on all that is beautiful and painful regarding the human experience. The lyrics are personal and rooted in a present-moment awareness and observation. Ultimately, the songs, while envisioned to entertain, invite the listener to dig deeper beyond the surface and make their own discoveries.

Songwriter Mike Baran started AON during an uneasy Springtime of 2020, during the early days of the Covid 19 pandemic. What began as a way to relieve stress and refocus energy in a time of uncertainty, led to a profound rediscovery of creative passion. Mike’s avalanche of musical sketches quickly turned into a wealth of demos. With over 40 ideas committed in such a short time, Mike spent the following months refining his ideas and honing in on a batch of songs that would become AON’s debut album: Motion In Time. Followed by his 2nd album Fungabee Falls in 2022. With a 3rd album of Americana music set to be released in the Fall of 2023.
